1,100 CEOs, managers & entrepreneurs joined us at the first Philippine Business Entreprise Congress at the Le Pavillon in Pasay last April 14!
.
.

When the RBG Philippines team asked me to host and moderate this event 7 months ago, without batting an eyelash I said, “Of course!” I have known this team for a few years now and I have nothing but respect and admiration for them and their boss, my mentor, Mr. Raymond Lim.

.
.

Having looked at the script 2 days prior to the event, I was impressed.

.
.

Let me quickly share with you what happened at the congress!

.
.
How often do you find events where you will hear from both the Republic of the Philippines’ President and Vice President?
.
.
They were not present but they made sure that they sent their personalized messages and even a representative to take part in this congress.
.
.
Delivering Vice President Leni Robredo’s message was her amiable spokesperson, Ms Georgina Hernandez.
According to her, what the office of the Vice President looks for are collaborators, people with innovative ideas that they can work with. So, if you think you have something new or promising to offer, send them an e-mail now!

The famous wealth coach, Chinkee Tan, shared tips on money and honestly, etertained the listeners the most with his anecdotes and natural humour.

.
.

The success guru of the country, John Calub, shared his newest project which is the Success Mall. If you are one of those who love shopping online, you are in for a treat! If you have merchandise and even digital products to offer, you may want to check his project.

The CEO at 22, Sean Si, taught us how important it is to have your own website and how doing SEO for it is a winning strategy! Do you have a website already? Honestly, it is not that expensive. Message me if you plan to have one. I can refer you to the most affordable and easiest person to talk to!

.
.

Without any bias, of all the speakers, this is the one whom I learned the most. The woman whose incredible success story got featured in the longest running drama show in the Philippines, MMK, Hershey Hillado. What I got from her, you will be able to read below.

.
.

The Maid who Made it, Rebecca Bustamante, the CEO of Asia CEO Awards shared how she struggled so hard to get where she is now. If you need someone to inspire your team, contact her. I’ve listened to her speak twice and she connects to people’s hearts.

Akili Polee flew all the way from the States to let the people know how the future is all about the cryptocurrency.
.

And the Singaporean Business tycoon with a Filipino heart, Raymond Lim, in Red tie, amongst others, made the congress complete. If you need help with Real Estate, if you are looking into going IPO, if you are ready to invest in cryptocurrencies, he is the man you should see.

.
.

As if all those were not enough, 30 minutes was also allotted for a Q&A with these CEOs where the audience asked them about the ins and outs of Blockchains and investing.

.
.

All these great people above were the reasons why the Le Pavillon at Pasay City was a full house last Saturday, April 14!

.
.

Hearing from more than 7 speakers, for 9 hours, I took note of my top 3 lessons from the whole day congress.

.
.

One. For those who are attached to their passion and existing business, this one is hard but if you come to think of it, it makes so much sense! “Building a business is not about you! It’s about them! It’s about the market.” Hershey asked a lot of questions that made me revisit my business model. She added, “What do they need? What are their pain points? Start from there.”

I have been hearing this for so long and it’s only that time that I got awakened by that point that makes so much sense! And with that, I challenged myself and got out of my comfort zone! For example, I have been hosting for 5 years now and people would come up to me and ask questions about what I do and how I do it. For me, with years of experience, it slowly became natural but l didn’t realize right away that for aspiring ones, it’s a struggle. And so with Hershey’s advise and my best friend Sha’s prodding, I made a super short survey asking aspiring hosts what’s their number one struggle in hosting. (If you wish to participate and let me know your hosting concerns, click here!) From there, I’d be coming up with a bootcamp on how to effectively host events.  How about you, what idea came to your mind?

.
.

Two. Business is all about relationships. Sure we know this. But as Sir Raymond Lim always says, “Knowing but not doing is not knowing. “ Collaboration, partnerships and the like play a crucial role in whatever business you are in! With more than 40 sponsors and event partners of the very first PBEC, you would know that gathering a thousand attendees can be made easy. With what I saw during the congress, I am re-evaluating the way I do business, the way my staff and members do business with our clients. And with this, I challenge myself, and I challenge YOU to be one of the best partners your clients can ever have! Care to share what’s your secret if you are exercising this already?

.
.

Three. This is a cliche but this is the new lifestyle that I am committing myself to be doing every single time. Whatever you do, whether your audience is small or big, whether pay is small or big, whether your exposure is small or big, give it your maximum. Give it your 110% performance because you will never know who is watching you! Big breaks come form unexpected circumstances, right? Might be hard at first but once this becomes a lifestyle, a habit, then it’s going to be effortless for you in the near future.

.
.

Now, of all the learnings and tips I shared with you, what is your one takeaway that you will act upon? I would love to know!
